This past Saturday was the first ever #hackUTOS – A Code Festival, dubbed ‘#hackUTOS 1.0″ and boy was it a grand success!
Over the 9 hour event, we had 30+ people attend, stop by and hack their little hearts out!!
Several of those folks stayed the entire 9 hours, which makes this sort of community hackfest so successful. We’ll definitely be doing a #hackUTOS 2.0 very soon, so watch here (and http://hack.utos.org) for updates and announcements.
There was tons of junk food, soda and an awesome burrito bar from the East Bay Cafe!!
At the end of #hackUTOS 1.0, the community chose an individual who did the most for free and open source software and he was awarded the #hackUTOS ‘Wrench of Pride’.
Others had great #hackUTOS pride:
The entire collection of photos is available on our flickr page.
Please thank David Owen (fugue88), as he did an amazing job of organization. Also, a special thanks to Dave Mitchell, Doc Hodges, Nate Conger and John Jolly for helping us cover security and networking. I’d also like to thank our volunteers for their help as needed.
And, last but not least, our sponsors XMission and Stackable, whom without their help, this event would have been less than stellar!
See you all at #hackUTOS 2.0 in a few months! Watch http://hack.utos.org for updates.
Cheers,
Clint
